The Mariners took the rubber and recorded their season-high 7th straight victory. It marks Seattle’s first winning streak of at least 7 games since an 8-game win streak, Sept. 7-14, 2016. Also, they have swept back-to-back series for the first time since Sept. 9-14, 2016 (3 games at OAK and 3 games at LAA).

The win has narrowed the game behind between Astros and them to 1/2 game.

Starting pitcher, James Paxton threw very well on Canada Day 🇨🇦. He allowed only 2 hits and 2 walks and got 11 strikeouts over eight scoreless innings and notched up his eighth win. In the Last inning, Edwin Diaz replaced James Paxton and earned his MLB-leading 32nd save.

About the offense, Ben Gamel hit a RBI single to left field for the only run in this game.

July 2 is off. M’s have a three game set over the #LosAngeles #Angels at Safeco Field from July 4.

The Mariners won the 2nd match over the Royals and recorded their season-high 6th straight win. The Mariners moved back within 1 1/2 games of the Astros with Houston losing at Tampa Bay. And the win improved M’s win-loss record to 53-31. It is the first time the club has been 22 games over .500 since the final game of 2003.

Starting pitcher, Felix Hernandez, got his 8th win and threw hit 5, ER 3, and Strikeout 5 over five innings. Relief pitchers after Felix were Pazos, Nicasio and Coloma, who pitched well. Lastly Diaz shut a door with his 31st save.

The M’s batting lineup has kept good with tonight’s 14 hits. Ryon Healy went 4-for-4 including a two-run homer and a RBI single. Healy snapped an 0-for-13 skid. Also, five of the starting members had a multi-hit.

The Mariners went back to home and had a opener of three game series against the Royals.

Today’s starting pitcher, Marco Gonzales, pitched very well, allowed H 6, ER 1 and got SO 7. He earned his eighth victory with his first complete-game win of his career.

About an offense, M’s got the first score with Mitch Haniger’s 17th two-run homer in the fourth inning. Mike Zunino hit his 12th solo homer on a fly ball to left field in the fifth inning. In the seventh inning, Jean Segura singled with a RBI on a ground ball to left field. They got 4 runs to expand a lead for Gonzales.

The Astros, the first place in the American League West, lost the game vs. the Rays, 3-2. The game behind between Houston and Seattle has been reduced to 2.5 from 3.5.
